Samual George asked me to marry him one week, and five days ago.
He took me for a walk by the Shoshone River. We stopped and trekked (ok, maybe not a trek; it probably wasn't more then 200 feet. But it was treacherous) through cactus and sagebrush to a little overlook where we could look down at the river and the beautiful fall trees surrounding it. We admired it for a while. He turned to me and knelt down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked if I would marry him. I said yes, and he put a gorgeous ring on my finger (that I'd never seen before in my life ;). He stood up and gave me a big hug (and a kiss :) We stayed there for a while and enjoyed the moment. And then I think I must have locked my knees because I got really lightheaded and hot and slightly nauseas and thought I was going to pass out. I proceeded to sit on the ground until I felt a little better. Then we decided we should probably go get some water. And tell our families! :)
We received nothing but positive reactions from every person we told. I can't say how much that meant to me. It was a heavenly day.
And it's been a fabulous 12 days. And slightly scary. And long.
Fabulous because I know I am going to marry the love of my life and my best friend.
Scary because I am 18. People tell me I'm too young. Or maybe I just imagine people telling me I'm too young. Sometimes I start to think about life and all the things I don't know about it, and I think, "I am too young for this." But part of me thinks that everyone has to feel that way. And I'm ok with that. Marriage will be a learning experience. And learning is fun.
And long because it has been one week and four days since I have seen my fiancée in person. Which might sound slightly pathetic. But it really is a long time haha. Bless the person who invented Skype.
But mostly fabulous. Because I am going to marry the love of my life in my favorite place in the world and celebrate with all the people I love the most. And what could be better than that?
On a semi-sidenote, we took hardly any pictures last weekend. Which I already regret. So these are all pre-engagement. But you know. It works :)
When we go to Utah, we always make a trip to Provo to see Lauren. Can I just say how happy it makes me that my two best friends like each other so much?

This picture is from the first time I cut Samual's hair. It was scary but turned out decent. Unlike the butcher job I did the weekend we got engaged. Haha oops :) Hopefully it grows as fast as he says because we're taking engagement pictures this weekend. Whatever. He makes it look good :)
This pretty well captures this last summer. It was by far my favorite summer ever.
Life is good.
